Analytik Jena, provider of analytical and bioanalytical measuring systems as well as complete laboratory engineering services established the Analytik Jena Italia srl based at Milan. In this fiscal year, after having established its own sales network in America, Asia, Africa and Eastern Europe, the company increasingly focuses on the European market.

Beside Germany, France and England, Italy ranks among the markets with the highest sales for the product portfolio of Analytik Jena in Europe. With Giuseppe Crabi, a man with great experience and high recognition on the Italian market could be won as operative general manager of Analytik Jena Italia. For years, Mr. Crabi worked for one of the world's largest competitors and thus, besides having a wealth of customer relations, he has the expertise needed for the business.

Analytik Jena Italia will market the complete product range of analytical and bioanalytical systems of the German parent company as well as take on the technical and application services of the systems for the Italian customers. In addition, the new location shall help to extend the European presence of Analytik Jena and increase the market shares abroad. For the fiscal year 2002/03, the Italian subsidiary, which has started its regular business activities mid-October, aims at sales of about Euro 600,000.

"We will continue to intensively push internationalization", said Klaus Berka, CEO of Analytik Jena AG, on the occasion of setting up the Italian subsidiary. "The expansion into Italy presents another significant step in the development of our global marketing network. The new subsidiary is to strengthen our market position in Europe and to customer oriented benefit from the growth potentials coming up there.

With the establishment of Analytik Jena Italia we are increasing our commitment on the important South European market and are able to further intensify the relations to our Italian customers.

There is a great interest in and demand for our systems that we can increasingly meet now", explained Klaus Berka.
