Wacker-Chemie: Management Buyout of Silicon Carbide Business ESK-SIC GmbH
By divesting its silicon carbide operations, Wacker-Chemie concentrates on its core businesses. Wacker had already sold its 50 % stake in the American silicon carbide producer Exolon-ESK in August 2001.
With 290 employees at sites in Germany and the Netherlands, ESK-SIC makes high-quality products for the abrasives, refractory and foundry industries. Annual ESK-SIC sales total some EUR 70 million. The management's longstanding experience and the company's excellent market position are a sustainable basis for a smooth transition and future growth.
