Degussa sells its p-Cresol and Antioxidants Business to ARQUES

ARQUES Industries AG has acquired, in a combined asset and share deal, the p-Cresol and antioxidants business of Degussa, comprising Degussa Sant Celoni S.A., Spain, and Degussa Knottingley Ltd., UK.
The acquired business is one of the largest producers worldwide of phenolic antioxidants, p-Cresol (which serves as the main raw material for phenolic antioxidants), sulfonic acids and thiophenes. With approximately 140 employees, the business has generated consolidated sales of approx. EUR 60m in 2006.
The sale is subject to regulatory approval and is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2007.
