Air Liquide & the CEA sign fuel-cell research agreement

19-Dec-2001

France?s nuclear research agency, the CEA, and Air Liquide , the world?s leading industrial and medical gases company, have just signed a framework agreement to cooperate in fuel cell research.

Under this agreement, the CEA and Air Liquide will combine R&D resources to develop fuel cell systems and a hydrogen supply system. This effort, which continues the work of Axane, Air Liquide?s joint venture with Nuvera, will mainly focus on membrane fuel cells and hydrogen storage. This collaboration will make it possible to accelerate the preliminary phase prior to the commercial production of these systems, which among other things will equip public transportation vehicles and other ?captive? vehicle fleets.
