PARIS, FRANCE, HUNT VALLEY, MD and RED BANK, NJ, USA, February 11, 2002 -- Millennium chemicals "Millennium" has announced a 200% increase in ultrafine, nano-particle TiO2 production capacity at its Thann, France facility.
This expansion creates capacity for existing and new products for the environment, including selective catalytic reduction (SCR DeNOx), Claus catalysts and photo catalysts for cleaning air and water and for use in self-cleaning surfaces. Additionally, the expansion includes a production unit for scale-up and testing of ultrafine TiO2 products that may be used in applications like UV blockers, color pigments precursors and electro-ceramics.
"This increase in nano-particle TiO2 capacity demonstrates our commitment to developing and providing specialty titanium dioxide products and is a vital part of our strategy to grow Millennium's Performance Chemicals Business," commented John (Jack) VonOhlen, Vice President – Performance Chemicals Business, Millennium Chemicals.
