Energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometers:

NEX QC II Series

NEX QC II Series for Routine Elemental Testing and Quality Control

Applied Rigaku Technologies

The Rigaku NEX QC II Series provides fast, non-destructive elemental analysis for everyday industrial quality control. These compact benchtop energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence (EDXRF) analyzers measure sodium (Na) through uranium (U), from low parts per million to high weight percent concentrations. They support routine analysis of solids, liquids, powders, coatings, and thin films in laboratories, production facilities, at-line testing locations, and other industrial environments. The series includes the NEX QC II for general-purpose elemental analysis and the NEX QC II+ for more demanding measurements.

This second-generation platform incorporates updated detector technology, optimized optics, upgraded processing electronics, and improved detector protection. The NEX QC II provides dependable performance for routine multi-element quality control, while the NEX QC II+ offers higher resolution and enhanced light-element sensitivity for more demanding applications. Both models are designed for reliable day-to-day operation in industrial and lab-based environments.

A self-contained design with an embedded computer, seven-inch touchscreen, and built-in printer eliminates the need for an external PC or additional peripherals. Clear, icon-driven menus and the guided Application Builder simplify calibration setup, routine measurements, result review, and pass/fail interpretation. This reduces training demands while helping operators obtain consistent results. Data can be exported in PDF or CSV format through USB or Ethernet connections, and standard outputs support integration with laboratory information management systems. Optional sample changers, a sample spinner, helium purge, and a carrying case allow the system to be configured for different materials, throughput requirements, and testing locations.

The NEX QC II Series supports applications including sulfur and metals in petroleum products, silicone coat weight, metal and conversion coatings, wood preservatives, mining and refining materials, recycled materials, waste streams, polymers, and general production monitoring. Its small footprint, minimal sample preparation, low consumable requirements, and user-maintainable design make it a practical choice for routine QC and at-line verification. The first-generation NEX QC+ QuantEZ also remains available for laboratories requiring the expanded method development, advanced calibration, and optional compliance capabilities of the PC-based QuantEZ platform.
