KSB: Pump test facility commissioned in Spain

16-Aug-2010 - Spain

After three years of planning and constructing, the KSB Group company, KSB ITUR Spain S.A., commissioned an automatic pump test facility of more than 1,000 square metres on 9 July 2010.

It includes nine test stands on which up to 75 pumps can be tested per day and allows to perform sophisticated procedures on the basis of many international standards and customer specifications. The facility also comprises open and closed water loops and an oil test stand for gear and screw pumps.

In the closed loop systems, pump sets with an output of up to 750 kW can be tested. Thanks to the test stands’ design, both horizontal and vertical centrifugal pumps with high flow rates as well as submersible motor pumps, piston and progressive cavity pumps can be run.

KSB engineers from Germany, Brazil and Spain designed and planned the site to the same standards on which the German test facilities in Frankenthal and Halle are based. The plant in Spain is part of a worldwide network of test sites which gives the pump manufacturer global access to all information, processes and data.
