Systat Software Inc. takes over SPSS Science


Erkrath - Systat Software, Inc., a leading developer and supplier of statistical analysis and visualization software, announced that it has acquired the exclusive worldwide rights to distribute the scientific data presentation and analysis products SigmaPlot, SigmaStat, and SigmaScan Pro from SPSS Inc. In addition to the distribution license, the agreement also involves the acquisition of all related customers, personnel including developers, and fixed assets for cash payments to SPSS totaling $ 13.0 million. In 2003, SPSS recognized revenues of approximately $ 6 million from sales of these software programs. The agreement became effective on December 29, 2003.

Systat Software Inc., headquartered in Point Richmond, CA, USA, is a leading developer and supplier of statistical analysis and visualization software. As a subsidiary of Cranes Software International Ltd., a worldwide provider of software and services in the development of DSP, mathematical modeling/simulation and embedded systems, Systat Software develops and distributes SYSTAT, a statistical analysis package and the curve-fitting software TableCurve 2D and 3D.

Systat Software immediately assumes responsibilities for marketing and sales of the products as well as their ongoing development and technical support.

European operations of Systat Software are handled from the newly founded Systat Software GmbH, Erkrath, Germany, UK operations are handled from Systat Software UK Limited, London, UK.
