Japan Air Gases to install a new large air separation unit in Japan
This plant, which should be commissioned in the first half of 2005, will be one of the largest air separation units in Japan producing 2,100 tons per day of oxygen. It will benefit from cutting-edge technologies particularly in energy optimization and in the preservation of the environment.
Commenting on this decision, Guy Salzgeber, Chief Executive Officer of Japan Air Gases said, "SOKK was installed in 1965 as Japan's first full-fledged on-site gas plant for oxygen steel-making. It has been of historic significance as it pioneered "on-site" bulk oxygen supply. Today, this new unit will enable us to supply Nippon Steel, a major steel manufacturer worldwide, together with other metal transformation industries in the region of Himeji. We will be committed to constantly enhance their competitiveness through our technological know-how"
