Christine A. Poon Appointed A Vice Chairman of Johnson & Johnson

Christine A. Poon, Worldwide Chairman, Medicines & Nutritionals, and a member of the Executive Committee, has been appointed a Vice Chairman of Johnson & Johnson.

With this appointment, Ms. Poon becomes a member of the Office of the Chairman, joining Chairman and Chief Executive Officer William C. Weldon and Robert J. Darretta, Vice Chairman and Chief Financial Officer.

In addition, the Nominating & Corporate Governance Committee of the Board of Directors has nominated Ms. Poon for election to the Board at the Annual Meeting of Shareholders in April.

Ms. Poon will continue to have management responsibility for all pharmaceutical, consumer pharmaceutical and nutritional businesses and report directly to Mr. Weldon.

Ms. Poon was appointed Worldwide Chairman, Medicines and Nutritionals in 2003. Previously she served as Worldwide Chairman, Pharmaceuticals, a position she assumed in 2001.

She joined Johnson & Johnson in November 2000 as Company Group Chairman, Pharmaceuticals, after a 15-year career with Bristol-Myers Squibb, where she held numerous senior level management assignments. In her last position there she served as President of International Medicines.

A graduate of Northwestern University with a B.A. in Biology in 1973, Ms. Poon acquired an M.S. in Biology and Biochemistry at St. Louis University in 1976 and an M.B.A. in Finance from Boston University in 1982.

Ms. Poon's achievements in pharmaceuticals earned her the honor of being named the 2004 Healthcare Businesswomen's Association Woman of the Year.

She is a member of the Advisory Board of the Healthcare Businesswomen's Association and is on the board of directors of the Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia, PA.
