Flow monitors are indispensable components for safe monitoring of fluid processes in laboratory and industrial applications. These robust flow switches enable reliable control of flow rates even under demanding operating conditions with high temperatures up to +110 °C and operating pressures up to 16 bar.
The operating principle is based on innovative pendulum plate technology: A pendulum plate mounted in the flow chamber is connected via a balance beam to a barium ferrite magnet. This actuates a reed contact positioned outside the flow chamber, which functions as either a normally open or normally closed switch depending on the configuration. This design ensures maximum operational safety and minimizes maintenance requirements.
Particularly noteworthy is the insensitivity to contaminated media and scale deposits while maintaining low pressure drop. The IP65 protection rating makes the devices suitable for use in demanding environments. Through the use of stainless steel 1.4310 for the control spring and fluoroelastomer (FKM) as sealing material, the flow monitors are also suitable for aggressive media.
