Pneumatic ball valves enable precise and automated flow control in demanding industrial applications. These maintenance-free valve systems combine proven ball valve technology with pneumatic rotary actuators for reliable process automation.

Operating Principle and Design

The system consists of a ball valve and a pneumatic actuator in robust, maintenance-free construction. The actuator made from glass fiber reinforced plastic uses air pressure via a steep thread for control piston activation. This produces a precise 90° ±3° rotation of the drilled ball that regulates the flow. Three actuator variants are available: Type A (double-acting), Type B (single-acting, normally open) and Type C (single-acting, normally closed).

Material Variety for Different Requirements

The valves are manufactured from chemically resistant plastics: polypropylene (PP), polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), perfluoroalkoxy (PFA) and polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE). These materials offer excellent corrosion resistance, low weight and cost efficiency compared to metallic alternatives. The maximum operating temperature is 60°C at a control pressure of 3-6 bar and switching times of 1-2 seconds.

Molded versions are available in PP and PTFE, while block construction variants are manufactured exclusively in PTFE. Connections are made via G 1/4" or G 1/2" internal threads with freely selectable nominal diameters of 4-10 mm.
