The FRITSCH P-11 Knife Mill is a high-performance knife mill designed for the rapid grinding and homogenization of challenging samples in laboratory and quality control settings. With its extra-powerful motor and standard 4-blade cutting assembly, the device is ideal for a wide range of materials—from moist, oily, and greasy samples to dry, soft, medium-hard, and fibrous samples.

Flexible adaptation to different materials

The motor speed can be precisely adjusted in increments of 100 between 2,000 and 10,000 rpm to match the specific grinding behavior of each sample. With a maximum blade peripheral speed of 67 m/s and a blade diameter of 128 mm, the mill processes feed sizes up to 40 mm. The integrated turbo function, which operates at up to 14,000 rpm for a maximum of six seconds, significantly facilitates the grinding of particularly sticky and fibrous materials.

Cryogenic Grinding for Temperature-Sensitive Samples

For challenging materials such as gummy bears, chocolate, or plastic toys, the blade mill enables embrittlement directly in the grinding vessel using liquid nitrogen. This cryogenic function expands the range of applications to include temperature-sensitive and elastic samples that are difficult to grind at room temperature. Depending on the material, a final particle size of less than 300 µm can be achieved.

Optimal Homogeneity Thanks to the Variable Lid System

The freely adjustable Vario lid system reduces the grinding chamber volume to as little as 540 ml. This allows you to achieve a homogeneous sample with a narrow particle size distribution even with smaller sample quantities or difficult-to-grind materials—a decisive advantage for reproducible analysis results.

Contamination Prevention and Process Reliability

Single-use containers ensure absolute contamination safety between different samples. The integrated SOP generator allows you to save up to 20 standard operating procedures for reproducible workflows. With a power output of 1,250 watts (200–240 V) and compact dimensions of 32 × 43 × 48 cm, this 17.6 kg benchtop unit is suitable for laboratory use in food and feed testing, pharmaceuticals, chemistry, and other fields.
