Scientific Equipment products: As is available, everything found in a biotech or pharmaceutical research facility with a few minor exceptions (for example chemical fume hoods are not resold unless they are unused).
Process Equipment Products: As is available, everything found in a pilot or production pharmaceutical or fine chemical production facility.
Services For Customers: In addition to 60 to 80% cost savings over comparable new equipment, several other advantages are attained by purchasing reconditioned pre-owned equipment: Primary among these is the ability to rapidly fill orders. Often products from manufacturers in rapidly growing markets (such as biotechnology) are back-ordered several months or even years. With information based inventory available in real time over the Internet, if the desired item is in stock it can often be shipped the same day. This can be critical for time sensitive projects. Another important advantage to purchasing pre-owned equipment is the lowering of risk and investment for short duration trials or "proof of concept" studies. The equipment can then be traded in or disposed of.
Services For Suppliers: The time elapsed from when an expensive piece of process equipment is retired to when it is actually removed from the facility is typically the largest source of physical asset depreciation in the scientific equipment procurement/use/discovery process. By facilitating the timely recovery of these assets before they are completely depreciated provides significant value to the supplier.
