On June 8th, 2009 a new framework contract for engineering services was undersigned between
TOTAL Raffinerie Mitteldeutschland GmbH, Leuna, Germany and EDL Anlagenbau
Gesellschaft mbH, Leipzig, Germany.
After TOTAL had placed the first small orders with EDL in 2003, larger and more complex
projects could be implemented based on the first framework contract concluded between
both companies in autumn 2005. Due to good quality and sound expert knowledge of EDL’s
engineers this contract was filled with life for more than 3 years, according to the company. TOTAL - initially committed to place 10,000 engineering hours per year with EDL - could permanently increase this
number in the following years. Services throughout all project stages were performed for the
most diverse measures at the refinery.
The newly signed framework contract is valid for the next 3 years with an option on prolongation.
Based on agreed conditions and prices individual orders for specified measures and
projects can be placed with EDL. At present 27,000 hours per year are bound by contract in
order to implement revamp measures to further increase safety as well as production efficiency.
