Petrobras Biocombustível acquires 50% stake in a Biodiesel Plant in Paraná
Petrobras announced that its Board of Directors has approved the entry of its wholly-owned subsidiary Petrobras Biocombustível S.A. in the joint stock of BSBIOS Marialva Indústria e Comércio de biodiesel Sul Brasil S.A., with investments worth R$ 55 million , going on to hold 50% of the company´s shares.
BSBIOS Marialva is located in the municipality of Marialva, in the state of Paraná, and has installed capacity to produce 120,000 cubic meters of Biodiesel per year. It is expected to begin its commercial operations in the second quarter of 2010.
This acquisition is aligned to the Company´s Strategic Plan and will contribute to the attainment of the Company´s biodiesel production targets for the 2009-2013 period.
