New TechniData subsidiary in Singapore
In January 2010, TechniData EHS Solutions Asia started operations in Singapore. The new company is a wholly owned subsidiary of TechniData AG. The subsidiary will play a key role in enhancing TechniData’s presence in the Asia-Pacific market. Its key task lies in further developing the Asia-Pacific market for the TechniData Group. The focal points in this respect are sales and the management of customer projects.
“The business potential of the Environment, Health and Safety markets in the Asia-Pacific region is as great as that of European and North American regions. International supply chains and global trade are key factors behind this development. This goes hand in hand with an increasing number of regulations in the areas of product safety and stewardship, health and safety, and environmental protection,” explains Thomas Halliday, CEO of TechniDa-ta EHS Solutions Asia. Halliday knows what this means for the company. “In order to quickly adapt to this development, it is strategically important for us to ensure a local presence with regional personnel,” he adds.
Initially, TechniData EHS Solutions Asia will concentrate on countries where regulatory requirements, trade volume and EHS concerns are highest . Japan, Korea, Australia, China, Singapore, and Malaysia are among the primary target markets.
TechniData AG COO Thomas Wienke is fully aware just how important the new subsidiary is to the Group. “Starting from our core market of Europe, we have established ourselves as the market leader in North America over the past decade. In order to support globally active companies with local resources, we are continuing to expand our global presence. TechniData EHS Solutions Asia has a key role to play in this internationalization strategy. In addition, the new company will enable us to introduce TechniData’s proven EHS solutions to companies and organizations in the region and support them in their quest for EHS excellence,” he states.
