DSBG Announces Additional Price Increases
BEER SHEVA, Israel, June 18, 2002 - The Dead Sea bromine Group (DSBG) has announced further price increases for the following flame retardant products:
1. FR 522 - Dibromoneopyntyl glycol (DBNPG) FR522 is used as a reactive FR mainly in UPE (unsaturated polyesters) in the construction industry.
2. FR-1808 proprietary flame retardant - brominated trimethylphenyl indane. FR 1808 is DSBG's proprietary product, not containing DPO (diphenyloxides) and is used mainly in styrenics (HIPS and ABS) for good impact in high flow resins.
The price increase will be effective as of 1 July 2002. Customers whose contracts include pre-agreed pricing structures would not be affected.
Increased raw materials, energy and logistic costs, have triggered the need for the price increases and DSBG will continue to review the need for further increases. The price increases should enable DSBG to continue and invest in supporting increased demand of its customers while maintaining required profit margins. It would also enable DSBG to continue and invest in research and development of new application and technical support for its customers.
