Styrolution fast-tracks strategic priorities to reinforce position
22-Mar-2012
- Germany
Styrolution announced measures at major sites in Germany, South Korea and India to fast-track the implementation of its key strategic priorities. By extending and modernizing production facilities for styrene copolymers in Ludwigshafen, Germany, establishing a new Luran® S (ASA) production line in Ulsan, South Korea, and expanding ABS specialties in Vadodara, India, the company wants to drive selective, value-oriented growth in emerging markets and specialties. The company will support its cost leadership and improve the competitive position of its commodity business by optimizing capacity through its polystyrene and styrene monomer plants in Europe.
Roberto Gualdoni, CEO, Styrolution: “To maintain and expand our leading market position, implementing our strategic priorities quickly and rigorously is key. Only a few months after the closing and official launch of Styrolution we are now ready to take some important steps. I am convinced that these measures will increase our competitive strength, pave the way for further selective, value-oriented growth and long-term success, and allow us to serve our customers even better with an optimized asset base and regional availability.”
