During the Stakeholders’ Day, the Agency will explain the new processes under the new regulation and inform stakeholders on guidance, IT tools and support that will be made available before the entry into operation date of 1 September 2013. The aim of the event is to ensure that companies are aware of their roles, available tools and assistance so that they can meet their obligations.
Representatives from most EU Member States, Turkey, India, China, Canada and USA will participate in the European Chemicals Agency’s (ECHA) first Biocides Stakeholders’ Day.
During the conference, ECHA explains the new processes and application opportunities for companies under the Biocidal Products Regulation. ECHA will also present the review programme of active substances and practical implication of Union authorisation. ECHA will demonstrate to participants how to use the IUCLID version 5.5 to prepare biocides dossiers and the forthcoming new release of the Register for Biocidal Products (R4BP) which is the tool for submitting these dossiers.
Guest speakers will explain the roles of the European Commission and the Member States under the new regulation and bring industry perspective to the discussion.
At the conference, ECHA will publish its updated biocides web section and the first biocides submission manual dealing with the preparation of applications for active substances and biocidal products in IUCLID. The most essential guidance documents and other IT manuals essential for submitting dossiers from entry into operation will be published over the summer. Additionally, the ECHA Helpdesk is ready to support industry by answering to enquiries related to biocides and will assist Member States setting up a national helpdesk for biocides.
