LANXESS: Price increase for rubber chemicals

19-Dec-2013 - Germany

Specialty chemicals company Lanxess will raise its prices worldwide for rubber chemicals supplied by the Rubber Chemicals business unit effective January 1, 2014. The increases are required to offset raw material cost increases in Q1 2014.

The price increases will impact all product lines, including Vulkanox antidegradants, Vulkacit accelerators as well as Specialty Chemicals such as bonding agents (Cohedur), retarders (Vulkalent), plasticizers (Vulkanol) and DBD based peptizers (Renacit) and will range from 0.05 Euro/kg to 0.30 Euro/kg (0.10 US$ and 0.40 US$) depending on the product and region.

These rubber chemicals are primarily used in the manufacture of rubber products such as tires, hoses and profiles and in the production of drive elements.

The Rubber Chemicals business unit is part of LANXESS’ Performance Chemicals segment, which recorded sales of EUR 2.2 billion in fiscal 2012.
