New Production Facility for DOW XLA Elastic Fiber

Dow Fiber Solutions (DFS), a business unit of The Dow Chemical Company, opened the world's first manufacturing facility dedicated to the production of DOW XLA elastic fiber in Tarragona, Spain.
"This new facility is a major landmark in the success of Dow Fiber Solutions, and the establishment of an innovative new material on the world market," said Juan-Carlos Cuadrado, global business director for Dow Fiber Solutions. "It will allow DFS to manufacture and distribute the innovative fiber to customers in Europe and around the world, helping satisfy the rapidly-growing consumer demand for improved stretch performance in casual, formal and workwear garments."
"We've been listening to our customers since we entered this market two years ago," added Cuadrado. "Leading brands including Perry Ellis, Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger successfully opened the new category of stretch in men's dress shirts by using DOW XLA. Now our fabric-producing customers are using DOW XLA elastic fiber in wool, knits and no-wrinkle stretch cottons - applications where they tell us the product delivers exceptional differentiated performance."
