Innovene's Chocolate Bayou manufacturing site in Alvin, Texas, just south of downtown Houston, announced that it has successfully completed the expansion and turnaround of its olefins # 1 unit. The changes were implemented to meet stricter Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) environmental operating laws.
The project - which successfully produced prime product within just 26 hours of feedstock being introduced - adds 650 MMIbs of ethylene capacity to site, one of the largest olefins capacity expansions in North America this year.
During the construction project, employees and contractors recorded approximately 3.5 million work hours and had an OSHA Recordable Incident Rate of less than 0.05.
