Dow to Acquire Divinylbenzene (DVB) Business from Total Petrochemicals

The Dow Chemical Company announced today that it has reached an agreement to acquire the divinylbenzene (DVB) business from Total Petrochemicals. The acquisition does not include manufacturing assets.
Terms of the transaction are not being disclosed. The transaction remains subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals.
Divinylbenzene (DVB) is a versatile cross-linking agent that also improves polymer properties. It is a mixture of isomers of divinylbenzene and ethylvinylbenzene. DVB can be used to modify many polymers that have found utility in adhesives, ion exchange resins, specialty plastics, elastomers, and other applications
