Emerson opens technology centers in China to meet increasing demand for valve products in the region

13-Jun-2007

Emerson Process Management, a business of Emerson, has opened two technology centers in Tianjin, China, to help meet the rising demand for control-valve and valve-automation products for the growing process manufacturing industry in the Asia Pacific region.

According to the company, the new centers feature one of the most advanced flow laboratories in operation today. Here, Emerson research and product design engineers will investigate valve technologies and verify valve-performance capabilities. On-site Emerson application engineers, who specialize in process control, will aid Asia Pacific industries by recommending valve and instrument products to meet a wide variety of flow-control requirements.

"Emerson's investment in Tianjin is part of our China strategy," said Michael H. Train, president of Emerson Process Management Asia-Pacific. "The new centers will help Emerson to further innovate and improve its technical expertise to bring industry-leading products close to the customer. It also demonstrates Emerson continued commitment to the development of the China market."

The 12,000-square-meter Emerson campus, within the Wuqing development area in Tianjin, also includes a manufacturing facility, which features rapid-response manufacturing as well as after-market support services.
