DuPont, Enviance Develop New Environmental Reporting Technology

19-Feb-2002

February 19, 2002 — The DuPont Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) Excellence Center and Enviance, a California-based environmental technology company, recently announced a technology agreement and launch of environmental reporting software developed for the preparation of U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Toxics Release Inventory (TRI) reports.

The new reporting technology, dubbed the Enviance™ TRI, allows for the processing and calculation of emissions data required to complete Form R requirements, the foundation of the EPA- mandated report. The Enviance™ TRI reporting tool is a fusion of DuPont proprietary technology and Enviance ingenuity. It simplifies the report preparation process by providing TRI filers with tools that allow for the auto- population of data into Form R and the electronic filing of the TRI report with the EPA.

Enviance delivered the first version of its TRI software to DuPont in time for the 2000 reporting year, which concluded June 30, 2001. "The Enviance™ TRI reporting tool has allowed DuPont to drastically reduce the time it takes to enter and process data necessary to complete the Form R reports for the TRI," said Darwin Wika, director of the SHE Excellence Center.

Darwin added: "The value of the product is that it helps facilities streamline their work and allows both the facilities and management access to up-to- the-minute information at all times – not just at the end of the year. Having used this technology to successfully streamline the TRI reporting process at DuPont, we are excited to make the product available on a widespread basis. We view this effort as another important step in our ongoing efforts to bring state-of-the-art technology and practices to industry."

The Enviance™ TRI reporting tool is offered on a subscription basis and can be installed and operated on a client's Intranet. Commitment to safety, health and the environment is a DuPont core value.
