Air Liquide Ventures Invests in Clean Air Solution

20-Feb-2002

Air Liquide Ventures announced today an investment comprising half of a total round of 10.0 million SEK (€ 1.0 million) in Clair International AB (CLAIR), a Swedish company specializing in air treatment solutions. Private investors Mats Wennberg and Board Chairman Roland Nilsson put forth the remainder. This new financing allows CLAIR to boost its sales and marketing efforts surrounding its clean air solution.

CLAIR has developed an innovative solution for improving indoor air quality in a reliable and cost-effective manner. The CLAIR system, which operates on the principles of air filtration and re-circulation, is unique in that it successfully captures the ultra-fine air particles suspected to pose the greatest health risks.

Now in deployment in a number of offices, hotels, hospitals, and doctors and dentists practices throughout the Nordic region, CLAIR’s system has already demonstrated the benefits of cleaner indoor air, such as a reduction in sick leave due to allergies or respiratory diseases. One of CLAIR’s early clients has already reported a reduction in employee sick days by over 60% for a staff of 50.

Boasting a strong presence in industry and health care, Air Liquide envisions strong complementarities with CLAIR in its objective of addressing the critical need for clean air in a variety of industrial and medical activities, such as in food safety, traceability, hospitals, and home care applications.
