Elastomer protective caps provide reliable protection for threads, bolts and pipe openings in demanding industrial applications. These flexible closure elements made from various rubber materials ensure optimal sealing and protection against contamination, corrosion and mechanical damage.

Material diversity for specific requirements

Thermoplastic rubber (TPE) is suitable for temperature ranges from -40°C to +135°C, short-term up to +150°C. With a tensile strength of 4-16 MPa according to ASTM D 412 and a tear resistance of 18-50 kN/m, TPE caps offer excellent mechanical properties with very good chemical resistance to acids and alkalis.

Ethylene-propylene-diene rubber (EPDM) with Shore hardness A 50° shows excellent resistance to oxidative media, hot water, steam and galvanic solutions. The tensile strength of 21 N/mm² at 320% elongation at break makes EPDM caps particularly flexible and durable.

Silicone rubber caps achieve temperature ranges up to +200°C continuous load, short-term +230°C. With 16 N/mm² tensile strength and 300% elongation at break, they retain their elastic properties even at extremely low temperatures without hardening or fusion.

Soft polyvinyl chloride (PVC-P) with Shore hardness A 65° offers oil and lubricant resistance in the temperature range -20°C to +66°C, special Flexicap variants even up to +200°C continuous load.
