HPR-20 R&D
High sensitivity, fast-response gas and vapour analysis at near-atmospheric pressure
Trace detection down to 5 ppb (subject to spectral interference)
<300 ms response time via heated 2 m QIC capillary up to 200°C
Triple-filter design for high abundance sensitivity and long-term stability
Triple-filter quadrupole MS with heated QIC inlet for ppb detection and fast response time
This bench-top gas analysis system combines a triple-filter quadrupole mass spectrometer with a heated Quartz Inert Capillary (QIC) inlet for continuous, real-time measurement of evolved gases and vapours at pressures near atmosphere.
Designed for advanced research, it delivers high sensitivity, selectivity and fast response for dynamic experiments including catalysis and reaction kinetics, thermal analysis mass spectrometry (TA/MS), thermal desorption studies, CVD/MOCVD/ALCVD process characterisation, environmental monitoring, glovebox monitoring, and gas separation and purity investigations.
Key performance features include:
- Triple-filter mass spectrometer providing enhanced resolution and abundance sensitivity; detection down to 5 ppb (subject to spectral interference)
- QIC sampling for continuous gas and vapour analysis; flexible 2 m capillary operated up to 200°C to minimise condensation and memory effects; response times <300 ms (for most common gases and vapours)
- Mass range 200 amu, with options for 300 and 500 (or 510, depending on configuration) and 1000 amu
- Electron impact ionisation; dual detector configuration (Faraday and secondary electron multiplier) for a wide dynamic range
- Soft ionisation capability by adjusting ionisation energy to simplify complex gas/vapour mixtures: 4 to 150 eV in 0.1 eV steps (70 eV standard operation)
Sampling inlet options support operation above and below atmospheric pressure, including high-pressure inlets up to 30 bar and dedicated capillaries down to 1 mbar. Multi-stream selectors are available in 2, 8, 16, 20, 40 and 80-way versions.
The result is a flexible R&D platform for reliable, quantitative, time-resolved gas and vapour analysis across laboratory and pilot-scale set-ups.
