Zeon Chemicals Commercializes Nipol® AR12 Polyacrylate Elastomer

08-Nov-2000

Zeon Chemicals announced at the 158th meeting of the American Chemical Society, Rubber Division that it has commercialized a new low-temperature polyacrylate (ACM) elastomer – Nipol® AR12. Polymerized using newly developed curesite technology, Nipol AR12 provides significant improvements in compression set, sealing force retention, and long-term physical property retention versus traditional polyacrylates and ethylene-acrylates (AEM). At 150°C, Nipol AR12 has shown to retain sealing force in excess of 4000 hrs in SF-105 synthetic oil while swelling less than 15%. Nipol AR12 is ideally suited for injection and compression molded automotive parts including engine and transmission seals and gaskets.
