Analytik Jena AG acquires interest of 75.1 per cent in CYBERTRON GmbH
Extension of product portfolio for laboratory automation
CYBERTRON has specialized in the development and production of automation equipment and robot systems. In addition, the company has longstanding know-how in the development and marketing of patented motion systems and the integration of special applications in the fields of industrial automation.
Strategic decision making it possible to go into laboratory automation
The ever growing demand particularly for biochemical analyses as well as for fast and fully automatically running processes increasingly requires the combination of analytical and bioanalytical systems with intelligent robot technology. With its longstanding experience in the development and production of high-precision, intelligent motion systems, CYBERTRON represents an excellent complement within the interest portfolio of Analytik Jena for its bioanalytical solutions Business Unit. Already today, the robot systems of CYBERTRON are being employed by renowned companies that, among others, are active in the field of biotechnology. The close co-operation of the two companies shall lay the foundations for the development and marketing of entirely novel and extremely complex laboratory workplaces particularly for bioanalytical applications. The acquisition ensures Analytik Jena considerable know-how for the strongly growing market of laboratory automation.
"With the acquisition, valuable synergies will arise for both companies. We are convinced that our products for analytical and bioanalytical system solutions as well as the know-how and expertise of CYBERTRON in the field of automation and industrial informatics will ideally complement each other to meet the demands of the market and the customers. The integration of CYBERTRON in the Analytik Jena Group allows us to realize the necessary product diversifications for optimized and efficient systems. In the first step, we will already in this year launch a microplate handling system that is to complement our FLASHScan S12® Spectral Reader", said Klaus Berka, CEO of Analytik Jena.
