BASF increases prices for acid chlorides, chloroformates and related specialties

10-Nov-2006

With immediate effect, or as contracts allow, BASF will increase its prices for all acid chlorides, chloroformates and related specialties by 7% worldwide, with the following exceptions, for which the prices will be increased as indicated:

Neodecanoyl Chloride - Europe/ROW: EUR320/t - Asia/NAFTA: $410/t

Pivaloyl Chloride - Europe/ROW: EUR260/t - Asia/NAFTA: $330/t

Ethylhexyl Chloroformate - Europe/ROW: EUR170/t - Asia/NAFTA: $220/t

According to BASF, these price increases are predominantly necessary due to increasing raw material costs and the resulting unsatisfactory margins.
