Dell delivers 60.000 computers to BASF

Standardizing on a single PC platform reduces costs and increases productivity

25-Feb-2002

BASF and Dell Computer Corp. have signed an exclusive agreement on the delivery of more than 60,000 notebooks, workstations and desktop PCs. This was announced by Michael Dell, Chairman of the Board and CEO of Dell Computer Corp., and Dr. Jürgen F. Strube, Chairman of the Board of BASF Aktiengesellschaft, during a visit by Michael Dell to BASF in Ludwigshafen.

The introduction of a worldwide corporate PC standard is part of BASF's "Fit for the Future" program, which is designed to streamline the company's communications and business processes. By standardizing on a single PC platform, BASF is lowering its PC hardware and service costs. Applying its unique custom factory integration service, Dell will supply all computer systems "ready to run" with BASF-specific hardware and software, providing BASF employees with global access to their familiar applications.

BASF chose Dell because of the excellent value provided over the entire contract period, the global delivery capabilities and high innovative power of the company.
