Bibby Scientific: New home of three lab equipment brands

23-Oct-2008 - United Kingdom

Jenway®, Stuart® and Techne® products are now manufactured and distributed by Bibby Scientific Limited, following Nova Capital’s earlier acquisition of Barloworld Scientific.

As one of four new companies established by Nova from the former Barloworld business, Bibby Scientific focuses on the design, manufacture and distribution of three benchtop laboratory equipment brands. The Jenway range of analytical products has particular strengths in electrochemistry and spectrophotometers. Stuart sample-processing equipment includes hotplates, shakers, rotators and melting point apparatus. Techne is a temperature control brand, offering a wide portfolio of thermal cyclers, water baths and block heaters for life science, research and clinical labs.

According to Chris O’Connor, Bibby Scientific CEO, ‘In addition to equipment manufacture and distribution, Bibby Scientific is putting extra resources into new product development with the aim of continuing expansion of all our product ranges to meet the changing needs of users. The Jenway, Stuart and Techne brands offer the very best in quality, performance and value, and our dedicated sales, marketing and technical teams deliver a fast and flexible response for customers.’

Stuart and Techne products are developed at Bibby Scientific’s headquarters in Stone, Staffordshire, while the Jenway range is manufactured at the company’s Felsted, Essex site.
