BASF raises prices for Neopentylglycol and Trimethylolpropane

BASF is raising its prices for Neopentylglycol (NPG) and trimethylolpropane (TMP) worldwide with immediate effect or as allowed by contract:
NPG: +0,10 Euro/kg (Europe, Africa, Middle Eas); +0,05 US-Dollars/pound (The Americas); +0,05 US-Dollars/Kg (Asia Pacific)
TMP: +0,10 Euro/kg (Europe, Africa, Middle Eas); +0,05 US-Dollars/pound (The Americas); +0,05 US-Dollars/Kg (Asia Pacific)
This price adjustment is necessary due to increased cost, according to the company.
NPG and TMP are polyalcohols that are widely used in solvent-free coatings as well as in the production of polyurethanes, alkyd resins and synthetic lubricants. BASF has NPG production facilities in Ludwigshafen (Germany), Freeport (TX, USA) a nd Jilin (China) with a total annual capacity of 165,000 metric tons. BASF has a TMP production facility at its Verbund site in Ludwigshafen, Germany, with an annual capacity of 20,000 metric tons.
