LANXESS increases prices for iron oxides

20-Apr-2010 - Germany

With immediate effect, specialty chemicals company Lanxess AG is increasing its prices worldwide for iron oxide pigments by up to EUR 100 per metric ton. For certain products or in certain regions the increase may be even greater. The Inorganic Pigments business unit cites as the main reasons for this measure the continued strong rise in raw material costs and investments in quality and environmental protection.

The iron oxides produced by LANXESS have a decades-long track record for applications in the construction industry and in paints and coatings, plastics and paper, as well as for use as specialty pigments for toners and other applications. They are marketed under the trade names Bayferrox, Bayoxide, Bayscape and Colortherm and are among the world’s most lightfast and weather-stable pigments.
