Oxea schedules turnaround at Oberhausen
Oxea’s production site in Oberhausen, Germany, will undergo a scheduled turnaround for approximately four weeks, beginning on May 24, 2013. In accordance with standards for mandatory routine inspections every five years a turnaround of the main Oberhausen units is required. The inspection allows a coordinated maintenance schedule for the entire OXEA production site. It has taken several months of meticulous preparation throughout Oxea's organization that involved teams from Technical, Operations and Commercial to cover all aspects of this event.
“Oxea has taken all measures to ensure that contractual delivery obligations are being met during the turnaround at Oberhausen” said Miguel Mantas, Executive Board member for Marketing and Sales. “We are building inventories in order to continue to meet our supply obligations throughout the turnaround period,” he continued.
Turnarounds are planned, periodic events when a production facility is taken offline for a defined period for inspection and maintenance work. This time is also often used to implement projects, such as debottlenecking, or for technological upgrades. These activities restore the facility’s life cycle and ensure the safe and efficient operations.
