24-Feb-2005

The official inauguration of the new facility in Lancaster (TX) marked the consolidation of Brenntag Southwest's former activities at the locations in Dallas and Fort Worth. The new facility in the southwestern USA enables Brenntag to offer its ever increasing customer base additional services for warehousing, packaging and blending.

A white room provides optimum conditions for the storage and packaging of chemicals for the food and pharmaceutical industry, for example, and separate refrigeration zones meet the latest hygiene and safety standards for the handling of these goods. The Lancaster site houses a total storage tank capacity of 1.5 million liters over an area of 200,000 square meters. The facility has its own siding, ensuring rapid loading of liquids and solids for transport by rail.

Brenntag Southwest, a company in the international Brenntag Group, is part of the Brenntag distribution network in North America. With sales amounting to 4.3 billion euros in the business year 2003 and 8,900 employees worldwide at about 300 sites, Brenntag, based in Mülheim an der Ruhr (Germany), is the global leader in the growing market for chemicals distribution.
