Cognis has gained recognition from Syngenta, in the shape of its Purchasing Award 2006. The award was given in appreciation of Cognis' efforts to align its operations closely with Syngenta's strategic objectives and sourcing policy for inert substances, and of the committed support which Cognis has provided. It was presented at this year's Chemspec Europe trade show.
The Syngenta Purchasing Award is a tribute to Cognis' contribution to new product development via intelligent concepts and solutions, which have enabled Syngenta to achieve fast success in its chosen markets. The citation drew particular attention to two excellent examples of Syngenta's strategic partnership with Cognis. Firstly, Cognis solutions helped Syngenta take full advantage of the potential of the business opportunity presented by soybean rust in Latin America, particularly in 2004. Secondly, through significant development support & production commitment Cognis helped to ensure the successful launch of Axial, Syngenta's new cereal herbicide earlier this year.
