PPG declares force majeure on architectural, residential, specialty glass products
“We temporarily ceased operations at Wichita Falls on Tuesday,” said Mark J. Orcutt, PPG vice president, performance glazings. “As a result, it is commercially impracticable for us to meet our customers’ demands at this time. PPG is working diligently to minimize any disruptions to our customers and to bring the facility back into operation as soon as possible.”
Production was temporarily halted on both float glass lines at the Wichita Falls facility, but workers were able to restore glassmaking on one. The second line remains idle and a startup date is not known.
