UCAR Emulsion Systems, a business unit of The Dow Chemical Company, is increasing the off-list prices on its emulsion products and rheology modifiers. Effective April 1, 2003, for all customers, Dow will increase the price of acrylic, styrene acrylic, styrene butadiene and NeoCAR(TM) acrylic polymers by $0.045/wet lb for a 50 % solids emulsion. Vinyl acrylic and NeoCAR Latexes will be increased by $0.035/wet lb for a 55 % solids emulsion. All rheology modifiers will be increased by 3 %. These increases will affect all market segments, including industrial coatings, architectural coatings, adhesives and sealants. They come as a result of increasing monomer and other raw material prices. Customers interested in learning more about the price increases should contact their local Dow sales representatives.
