Solutia Raises Prices on Resimene and Maprenal Resin Products for the North American Coatings Industry

09-Aug-2002

ST. LOUIS, Aug. 7, 2002 -- Solutia Inc. has announced a price increase for all grades of Resimene and Maprenal resin products for the North American coatings industry. These increases will apply to all off-list pricing, and are effective for all shipments on or after Sept. 1, 2002, or as contracts allow.

The price of high solids hexamethoxymethyl melamines (HMMM), high solids butylated melamines, and co-etherified melamines will increase by $0.05 per pound. The price of conventional methylated and butylated melamines, benzoguanamines, and urea crosslinkers will increase by $0.04 per pound.

"These price adjustments are necessary due to sustained increases in the cost of key raw materials and increasingly strong demand on available capacity," said Charles W. Lyon, global product manager, liquid coating resins.
