Ashland Unveils First Low Styrene, Pure Orthophthalic Marine Resin

AROGUARD(TM) LSO Helps Manufacturers Meet MACT Standards

30-Apr-2003

DUBLIN, Ohio - In order to help North American marine manufacturers meet tough EPA MACT standards, Ashland Specialty Chemical Company is rolling out AROGUARD LSO, the first 100 percent orthophthalic marine resin containing less than 35 percent styrene and volatile organic compounds (VOC).

"AROGUARD LSO is specifically designed to not only meet EPA MACT standards but provide a premium low-styrene product that can be seamlessly integrated into manufacturing operations without adding alternative monomers, changing equipment or compromising product performance," said Larry Baker, vice president and general manager, Ashland Composite Polymers.

The proprietary polymer present in AROGUARD LSO resin provides fabricators with exceptional strength and secondary bonding properties, eliminating labor-intensive sanding processes required with DCPD resins.

AROGUARD LSO resins are available directly from ASCC or through Ashland Distribution Company, the exclusive distributor for the AROGUARD resin line.
