Envera™ announced today that
through participation with the Chemical Industry Data
Exchange, CIDX
eStandards effort, all Envera trading member companies will be CIDX
compliant by April.
Envera is the leading global electronic network for chemical and
petro
chemical industry B2B transactions and
services, with chemical
companies connected together via their
enterprise resource planning
(ERP) systems. Envera members have been sending and receiving
transaction data such as purchase orders, order acknowledgements and
related documents via extensible mark-up language, XML, since
October, 2000.
“Envera’s early efforts in Extensible Markup Language, XML
standards, helped set the pace for the chemical industry effort
undertaken by CIDX”, said Bob Mooney, CEO of Envera. “Envera
was featured on a national business television program in January on
XML standards pace-setters throughout the world.”
Envera continues to work with CIDX to further the standards effort.
“We were happy to share our eBusiness standards effort with CIDX,
and quite pleased by CIDX’s efforts for setting standards in the
chemicals Industry”, stated Mason Moore, VP of Information
Technology for Envera.
“It is certainly gratifying to see the chemical industry coming together on
the issue of XML standards,” stated Johnnie Foster, CIO of
Solutia, an
Envera trading member. “ A common set of industry accepted XML
standards is essential to creating the cost effective exchange models to
enable the bottom line benefits we’re all expecting.”
Envera’s member companies work closely together and many
participate on CIDX’s committees. Efforts, including dry van and bulk
logistics, rail fleet management, and
financial services, are underway to
involve the standards with many of the service providers to Envera’s
member companies, which includes Envera’s newest equity member,
Enron.
