Southern Clay Products increases North American Price for Optiflo® Associative Thickeners

Effective August 1, 2006 or as contracts allow, Southern Clay Products, Inc. (SCP), a subsidiary of Rockwood Holdings, Inc., is increasing list and off-list prices of Optiflo® associative thickeners for coatings by 3 to 5 percent per wet pound within the NAFTA region.
Mark Zody, SCP market manager for Optiflo Technologies, explained "The continuing increase in material and logistics costs requires us to take these actions so that we can continue to meet the needs of our customers now and in the future," he added.
Optiflo nonionic and alkali swellable associative thickeners are designed for use in waterborne paints, coatings, inks, adhesives and caulks to provide rheological properties such as mid-shear and high shear.
