Great Lakes Increases Price for Anox PP18 Antioxidant

07-Nov-2002

Great Lakes Chemical Corporation today announced that the price for Anox(R) PP18 hindered phenolic antioxidant will increase by 10% in Europe, effective December 1, 2002, where contracts allow.

Over the past several years, pricing for hindered phenolic antioxidants has declined to a level that is no longer sustainable. The new pricing reflects cost recovery associated with this product.

"Given the increasing demand for Anox PP 18, one of Great Lakes' largest volume hindered phenolic antioxidants, this price increase is a needed step toward ensuring that the required level of customer support, investment in productivity improvements, and security of adequate supply is in place as healthy growth returns to global markets," said Maurizio Butti, Vice President of Business Management and Marketing, for Great Lakes' Polymer Stabilizers division.

Through its Polymer Additives division, Great Lakes offers as a full line of UV stabilizers, antioxidants, blends, and optical monomers, as well as an extensive line of bromine-, phosphorus-, and antimony-based flame retardants and other synergists.
