Makhteshim-Agan launches new agrochemical products in the Australian market

Makhteshim Agan a generic company of agrochemical products announced that recently it has been granted registrations in Australia and New Zealand for clethodim, a selective grass herbicide used in various broad leaf crops. Makhteshim Agan is the first agrochemical company to receive registration in Australia and New Zealand for the generic version of clethodim, sold by its Australian subsidiary, Farmoz, under the trade name Platinum® and by its New Zealand subsidiary, Agronica under the trademark Arrow®. The annual sales of clethodim are estimated at approximately US$9.5M. In the last twelve months, Makhteshim Agan has broadened significantly its crop protection portfolio in the Australian and New Zealand crop protection markets by registering in addition to clethodim, several other important products based on active ingredeints such as bifenthrin, imidacloprid, chlorothalonil and bupirimate . The Australasian crop protection market in 2005 was approximately 1.2 billion US Dollars, where Farmoz and Agronica are strong growth contributors to Makhteshim Agan Industries (MAI).
