NuGenesis® Technologies and Quality Systems International (QSI) Announce Integration of WinLIMS

Integrated Solution Enhances Laboratory Productivity

08-Jan-2001 - USA

NuGenesis Technologies Corporation and QSI announced a joint effort to integrate NuGenesis SDMS software with QSI's WinLIMS product.

Laboratory scientists and IT professionals face significant challenges in their efforts to aggregate, validate, and trace enormous amounts of data generated by disparate sources. Although Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) are often deployed to manage sample workflow, LIMS systems extract text-based results from analytical instruments without establishing a seamless connection back to original, fully graphical instrument reports.

The NuGenesis Technologies/QSI integration eliminates manual searching through file servers and lab notebooks to view an original report. By leveraging the NuGenesis SDMS database, WinLIMS products will enable immediate access to all original reports associated with a sample study. Since NuGenesis SDMS software is an application independent repository for human readable reports, the integration provides QSI customers with the ability to review and reuse any type of laboratory report generated during the testing process.

"We are pleased to collaborate with QSI to bring our mutual customers a solution for the integration and mining of laboratory information," says Bernie Prusaczyk, Vice President, Business Development for NuGenesis Technologies. "Prior to this integrated solution, accessing report data has been a time-consuming, manual process."

"We are excited about the possibilities arising from this new relationship," says Wayne Verost, President of QSI. "We have many mutual customers in the chemical, petrochemical, and pharmaceutical industries needing immediate access to original instrument data. An integrated QSI-NuGenesis Technologies accelerates scientific workflow by eliminating the burden of sifting through paper documents or file servers."
