Makhteshim Agan Industries launches another three important herbicides in the U.S.A. corn market
The first active ingredient; acetochlor, has annual sales in the range of 200 million dollars. MANA is the first generic company to obtain a comprehensive EPA registration for this product which will be marketed under the commercial name: First Act.
The other two products are a premix of acetochlor and atrazine which will be marketed under the commercial name Double Team, and a premix of metolachlor, atrazine and benoxacor safener which will be marketed under the commercial name Parallel Plus
The rise of glyphosate use in corn in the U.S. has reinforced the need for preemergent corn herbicides. Many weed specialists recognize the need for preemergent herbicides in a glyphosate tolerant corn program not only to eliminate early season weed competition but also to help reduce the concern about glyphosate tolerant weeds.
