ST. LOUIS, Jan 7, 2002 -- Sigma-Aldrich has just released its Sigma division's latest catalog of biochemicals and reagents for Life Science Research. With over 5,000 new products and an easier-to-use format, the catalog, along with Sigma's strong tradition of excellent service and unrivaled technical knowledge, further enhances the company's position as "The Source" for life science research. New and innovative products, many initiated by customers' suggestions, have been added in areas including proteomics, gene expression and analysis, cell signaling, recombinant protein expression, DNA & RNA purification, PCR, plus state-of-the-art laboratory equipment products. Sigma-Aldrich's recently completed $55 million Life Science and High Technology Center in St. Louis, Missouri will ensure a steady stream of even more exciting products.

In nearly 3,000 pages, the two-year edition serves as a technical sourcebook of over 30,000 products that touch nearly every aspect of the life sciences. For the first time, the book is organized completely alphabetically by product name, with plenty of cross-references and application-specific sub-sections to help researchers pinpoint items needed.

The catalog also includes a separate section for laboratory equipment, books and supplies as well as a section for diagnostic kits, reagents and equipment for chemistry, immunoassay, coagulation, cardiac assessment, histology and the growing point-of-care market.
